The Gregson Gig Series from Lancaster Jazz Scene

Our latest exciting project is the Gregson Gig Series.

This series of gigs will present an eclectic variety of jazz artists  in the Olive Bar at the Gregson Centre in Lancaster.

For our first gig we welcome the Paul Palmer Quartet.

Join us on Sunday 28th May from 18:30 for a great evening of live jazz music. Here's more info;

Paul Palmer – Saxophones

Jon Moreman – Trombone

Richard Page – Guitar

Steve Simpson – Double Bass

The quartet play a lively and accessible collection of jazz numbers from the swing mainstream era through to latin and “Blue note” classics. The guys have played together for about 20 years across the North West of England in Pubs, Jazz clubs and festivals and corporate events.

Paul is based in Endmoor and is a sax tutor and freelance player covering all genres from jazz to pop to house music with dj’s. Jon is a former pro trombonist and is still in demand with the occasional tour with top orchestras (including the “Strictly come dancing band”) or the numerous jazz bands he appears with.

Richard is a reformed “prog” rock guitarist!, and composer now to be found in show orchestras, pop bands and all nature of Jazz ensembles. Steve toured the country in his younger days but now remains much in demand throughout Cumbria and Lancs as a freelance bassist and tutor.
